As I browse around the internet, I sometimes open things I really like or want to come back to in another tab.
But then I can’t close the tab – because I want to come back to it or I think someone else might think it’s cool.
I could bookmark it but don’t have my bookmarks sorted in any particular way, so I’ll probably just loose it in the shuffle (which would be a shame).
So I don’t bookmark it.
Instead, I just leave the tab open for weeks at a time until Firefox decides enough is enough and spontaneously barfs and shuts down.
While I could choose to restore all my tabs when it restarts, I usually decline for fear of starting the cycle all over. At least if Firefox decides to shut everything for me, I can take it as a sign from the cosmos that [whatever was open] really isn’t all that important and I should move on.
It’s a bad habit that sounds decidedly more crazy actually written down.
To save my trusty laptop from offing itself, I’m going to link to all the wonderful things that I’m currently loving. I’m sure I found these items linked through a blog in my reader but long forgot to note where. I’m sorry for the lack of a proper “finder’s” shout-out but I swear you have my undying love.
Lets get to it, shall we?
Things I’m Loving:
- The recipes in this post at Fly Through My Window
- The aesthetic of this totally cute backyard wedding {& the bride’s tattoos}
- This messy summery DIY updo (if I still had hair)
- Domino on Brides.com
- Books by Color
- Watermelon Feta Salad
- Hoisin Chicken with Cucumber Salad
- Finished Kitchens Blog (dreaming of gutting the red nightmare I current have)
- Other power tool wielding ladies as featured by Rambling Renovators
- This lovely room on Decor Pad
Love the kitchen website…. could spend lots of time looking at that site!
That last room just gave me a mini heart attack – love it so much!
This is a great round-up, and I totally hear you on the omg-my-firefox-is-all-seized-up-with-loads-of-tabs problem. That is, until I met pinterest.com which is pretty much the bee’s knees. Visual bookmarking, baby. It’s. so. good. For planning a reno, especially!
Email me if you want an invite! 🙂
YES.PLEASE.!.
Blogging about your favorites is certainly a way to help organize them. And I can see from your list why you’ve been keeping tabs open. I love the messy up to — I’m hoping to figure out how to do it on my hair. And that last room…it’s heaven.
Definitely let Jill hook you up with pinterest. It’s AWESOME.
Oh my god, I do the exact same thing. And then sometimes one browser window gets too crazy so I have multiple windows with an infinite number of tabs.
Here’s another thing that might help: http://snipi.com (It gives you a button at the bottom of your browser, and if you like something you can save it by picture– which is so much better than by link name.)
But then we wouldn’t get to see the links here and I want that car. So keep posting them please!
I feel you! I started taking screenshots of whole pages. That way the URL is there if I need to get back to it!
That kitchen website is like crack for me. (I act like I know anything about crack. ;))
Haha, I do the EXACT same thing with opening tabs and leaving them open til Firefox dies randomly. My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy. I think I’m organised.
I do the exact same thing with tabs. Nice to find others doing it too.
Wow, talk about an amazing room!! Oh, and I’m a tab addict too ;).
