May 29 will mark 2 years owning this home. Last week marks the very first day the City of Newark actually came and picked-up the recycling.
I still had to call and report the missed pickup. But Holy.Crap.
They came!! The recycling was ACTUALLY picked up! I didn’t have to smuggle it away to my parents’ house or call a possibly shady gentleman with a pickup truck {both true stories}.
What is a boring, routine, mundane, municipal service is a thrilling highlight of my week. Seriously… first time EVER.
Now lets see if they can keep it going 2 weeks in a row…
Wow! That’s crazy! Is there a reason they don’t pick it up?
I think we’re the only one on our tiny little street that recycles, so for a long, long time they’ve never had to pick anything up. Now to see if they pick anything up this week…
Who’s been drinking alcoholic unicorn blood? I see a Four Loko in there.
Ah the joys of keeping the bins right by the sidewalk. At least passersby recycle instead of leaving it on the sidewalk or street. Mi recycling bins es tu recycling bins.
we finally got recycling in our city – we have recycling dumpsters now in the alley next to the trash dumpsters. it’s been great!
Wow. That was quite possibly the most vague response to Rob’s comment ever. I see no denial that it was YOUR Four Loko. 😉
Now now lets just savor this moment and not get too ambitious
This post made me laugh…I moved to Jersey City a couple of years ago, so I know exactly what you’re talking about. Nowadays, our recycling gets picked up but the guys leave and awful mess behind.
