Last Thursday night, Dad A came up and helped me sand & spackle.

This wall has taken FOREVER to level out. As you may remember, the studs behind the wall aren’t even. You could never tell with the plaster because it was all trowled on by hand. When we installed the perfectly flat sheet of 5/8″ drywall it got all bendy & wavy from the high & low spots. If we had been smart, we would have put shims behind the drywall in the low spots to even things out. We weren’t. The result has been copious amounts of sanding & spackling.

Are you aware that drywall dust gets everywhere? Cause it does.

This was as good as it got Thursday night. Still pretty rought, right? Yeah. We JUST finished the last round of joint compound & sanding yesterday (as in Monday the 17th).

Thursday was also spent spackling the inside of the little closet. Not the study turned walk-in closet {drool}, where we had moderate success with the plaster washers. The actual closet of the room.

The cable TV wire came through the wall from the other bedroom but we’re rerouting the cable for the entire house.

So I just removed it and spackled the holes.

I can’t wait to show you how we did the cable! Looks about 87 trillion times better.
