Bad Birdies

I swung by the house Thursday morning to peer in the front windows at our in-process floor refinishing.

While walking up to the house I looked up, thankful it wasn’t raining for a change. Then I saw this.

Need a closer look?

3 little birdies

That would be at least 3 different bird’s nests taking up residence in our gutters. I’ve never owned a home before but I’m at least 90% sure gutters are for water, not bird’s nests.

Add gutter cleaning to the TO DO list.

Please don’t remove the nests till the birdies are gone.

I’m all about love of wildlife but get those nests out of your gutters as soon as you can. Any time it rains heavily, you risk the water backing up and finding a way into your home. If you have water pour through your walls, you’re in for a world of hurt. Mold = $$$$$. Newark will move on with a couple less Grackles or Pigeons.

Also, if you can, cover the gutters with screen to keep the feathered friends out next spring. Sorry, Priscilla.

It’s okay Frank. But I’m giving your name to the scary looking Ospreys nesting near here.
