10 years Today

I know you’re not supposed to keep counting your dating anniversaries after you get married but I blatantly disregard that.

10 years ago today, we were sitting on his parents couch, watching the Woody Allen film Deconstructing Harry. (We thought we were SO cool.) I turned to my future husband and eloquently asked, “Will you go out with me?” Ah, what a wordsmith I was at the tender age of 16.

Weren’t we cute? This picture was actually taken 2 days before I popped the question. (And a big shout out to our dear friend Erin who took this now legendary picture.)

10 years (that’s a DECADE, people! A DECADE!!), 2 engagements (long story), and 2 weddings later:

Look how far we’ve come!

In July, we’ve got a little camera time scheduled with the one and only Kamila Harris. The picture above is pretty much the only current pic we have of the 2 of us and it was rigged up with a poker case, cookbook & some brochures on the back of our trunk, courtesy of the camera timer.

I wasn’t kidding. We can do better than that.

But more immediately, tonight we will be taking a break from ripping up carpet to veg on the couch and snuggle the dog.  We’re renting Deconstructing Harry in honor of the occasion.

Happy anniversary, babe! Here’s to another few decades.
